Everlasting Love

I like to be organized. My work desk and house should always be neat. I like to sleep straight through the night with no interruptions. I like to schedule my day and appointments on a reasonable time schedule. All my goals towards organization changed, however. I have a new baby now! My life is more described as a continuous day and night cycle of feeding the baby, calming him from crying, cleaning up, playing and nap time with him, and diaper changes. I barely have time for anything else, much less organization. When he was just born, I prayed that I could make it through just one more day without collapsing. My entire world seems to evolve around just a little baby boy. He can hardly do anything for himself. He relies on me for food, clothing, comfort, transportation, shelter, etc. Basically, he depends on me for everything. And yet, I would not trade my baby for anything in this world. When I look into his little, precious face, all the things I do for him seem insignificant. He makes me laugh when I feel sad and lonely. When I play with him, I forget the reason for my complaining. After having my own child, I began to realize the patience, understanding and love of my own mother as well as the great love that God has for me. My mom was always there for me and loved me when I was sick throughout the night, when I fought with my brother, when I needed help with my homework, when my feelings were hurt, and when I needed a listening ear. My mom is just as loving now and gives love and support for my child and for me. God’s love is just like a mother’s love and much more. The Lord says, “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands. . . I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving- kindness have I drawn thee. . .” (Isa. 49:15,16; Jer. 31:3). God will never leave us or forsake us. His love is deep and everlasting for me and for you. Why not invite him into your heart today?
