Lane Adams once said, “Living a Christian life in relationship to others is very much like for mation flying. You have your eye on the Leader (Jesus Christ), but you must always fly (Your life) with your relationship to others in (Plane) view…. Take your eye off the Leader and those around you, and you are already on your way to trouble.”*
As Christians, the Bible teaches us to follow the footsteps of Christ with all our heart, with all our mind, with all our strength. “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light …. See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fool but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” (Eph. 5:8, 15-17, NKJV).
To know the will of God means to walk in wisdom. Wisdom helps Christians to make good judgment, to discern between good and evil, right and wrong. Without divine guidance, people get confused or have disturbed behavior. “Character building is the most important work ever entrusted to human beings; and never before was its diligent study so important as now. Never was any previous generations called to meet issues so momentous; never before were young men and young women confronted by perils so great as confront them today” (Education, p. 225).
In order to lead a balanced life (Physically, mentally, spiritually), I have developed a Christian Time Management Table for daily use. It has been a blessing to me, and I believe it will be a blessing to everyone.
In this time table, Sunday is devoted to family, which is the foundation of society. The health of the school, church and society at large – all depend on solid, Christian families. Saturday or Sabbath is the memorial of creation. “For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the
seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it (Ex.:20:11, NKJV). For each day from Monday through Friday, reserve 8 hours for sleep, 8 hours for work/study, and 8 hours for personal time. How a Christian uses his personal time usually determines whether he makes or breaks his life.
A Christian life — in itself – is a sermon. Because Christianity is the way of life. We need to set our priorities. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Mat. 6:33, NKJV).
